About Me

I'm Steven Pederzani (you can call me Steve), an intellectual property attorney (copyright, trademark) licensed in New Mexico working with clients in the creative, technology, media and other industries. I work with a wide variety of people including but not limited to actors, artists, charities, developers, educators, fan creatives, musicians, writers and so on. While my practice is based in Albuquerque, I'm very paperless in that my practice exists almost solely online.

My goal is to assist clients in understanding strategies to protect and pursue their vision and their creative expression in a way that empowers them to make confident informed choices. I've gained experience and perspectives from the many hats I've worn in life. I have worked with nonprofit organizations in not only a legal capacity, but also volunteer staff, board and executive capacities. I've worked retail, call center and warehouse gigs before law. The skills and perspectives I've gained leading me into the law help me better address the unique needs of creatives, small businesses and charities. I understand and relate to trying to make it with weird, niche or disruptive projects and ideas while living a busy and challenging life.

Steve Pederzani grew up in Connecticut with an involved visual and performing arts background before obtaining a Bachelor’s in Theatre Arts from Western Connecticut State University. After spending a few years living in western Nebraska, he travelled to obtain his Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law with a focus on intellectual property. His educational experience included work at places like the Northwest Justice Projects and Wizards of the Coast. Steve also participated in many legal clinics for microenterprise with Wayfind, as well as arts and nonprofit clinics at Seattle University.

While pursuing his degree, he founded an arts charity, A Stage Reborn, to contribute to making arts opportunities more accessible through transformative works for those who could benefit from non-traditional approaches to engaging in the arts.

Steve now provides support and advisement to creatives, businesses and nonprofits on intellectual property, technology and related issues. Steve is licensed to practice law in the state of New Mexico.
